Course summary
Our MSc Development Finance course enables you to examine the key issues development finance against the background of major perspectives in development and macroeconomic policy.
Are you an early/mid-career professional interested in finance and governance?
If so, our MSc Development Finance will enable you to undertake a rigorous analysis of the role of development finance in economic development from both micro and macro perspectives. The course focuses on financial inclusion, microfinance, institutional design and policy reform in domestic and international financial systems.
In addition to the MSc course, we also offer Development Finance as a PG Diploma or PG Certificate, with the full-time option delivered over six months and the part-time option over two periods of six months.
Class sizes vary by subject and module, but emphasis is always placed on good contact time with lecturers. Learning occurs across a variety of lectures, seminars, tutorials and field trips.
Excellent opportunities exist for research, networking and personal development within each programme, as well as access to first-class study resources and employability support.
On joining this course, you will become a member of the School's Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE). As a GIIDAE student, you will have the option of undertaking a placement during the summer period, however this is not a requirement of the degree.
