Previous students studying this course have taken up appointments in large financial institutions, national government departments, and international banks, and excelled in their roles.This course develops your strategic understanding and critical thinking of the main finance principles and theories. These support and inform corporate financial decisions, upon which modern business decision-making is based. In addition, it provides you with an opportunity to develop practical skills and a theoretical understanding of finance for international business.You will explore the importance of accounting information in the management of corporations, as well as a variety of approaches that small firms follow to secure finance and thrive in the hyper-competitive market. You will also have the opportunity to evaluate the impact of organisational theories on corporations in an international context.What happens on the course?Learning and teaching methods:As a student on the MSc Finance and Accounting course, you will experience a variety of learning and teaching methods to help you achieve the most in your studies. Modules are taught via lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials, where you will have the chance to discuss and apply concepts through complex and practical exercises as well as in-depth study. On many modules, sessions are delivered through class exercises, group work or presentation and practical case study discussions. Students will be assigned to personal tutors who will be readily available for guidance and advice on academic-related matters or personal issues.
