About the course

One in two people in the UK will develop cancer over the course of their lives. As cancer treatment continues to improve, more patients survive and undertake rehabilitative therapies to aid recovery. This programme provides postgraduate training and education for current healthcare professionals and those aspiring to work in the evolving field.

Studying this course at Hull, you’ll enjoy strong links to many community and health employers. These provide excellent opportunities for work placements to apply your skills in real-world settings. The University partners with the City Healthcare Partnership, which runs rehabilitation programmes in Hull and the East Riding. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in a major research investigation, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and helping to develop an evidence-base for the discipline of cancer rehabilitation in the UK.

Future prospects

Employability is a key focus of this programme. You’ll gain the theory and practice knowledge relevant to the discipline and the opportunity to apply the scientific knowledge gained in real life settings.

There are currently no other MSc Cancer Rehabilitation courses in the UK. With the unique opportunities this programme offers, you’ll be ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving area after graduation.

Potential future careers could include rehabilitation and exercise physiologist in the NHS or private healthcare; lifestyle advisor; personal trainer and higher and further education staff.
