Learn the performance preparation techniques you need to succeed.Perform and collaborate in venues across the city as you refine your abilities. Working alongside composers and community musicians you will learn the craft of advanced performance. We have specialist instrumental and vocal tutors to work with you on your voice or chosen instrument. Our curriculum is tailored to bring out the best in you, wherever your musical talent lies.The study of music should not be about one genre. It should be eclectic and embrace every musician, every style, background and culture. When you study music performance with us you do not just learn about classical, jazz and rock. You also learn about and perform music from around the world and unexpected genres. This will help you expand your repertoire and become a versatile performer.On this course you will learn by making music. Perform music you love, and explore new genres too. You will work in different ensemble settings, including:Chamber and gospel choirsJazz vocal improvisation groupsThe Musical Production SocietySamba, soul, concert and brass bandsUkulele or classical orchestras.We will challenge you to realise your creative potential. To explore your self expression and develop an understanding of music's place in society. You will actively collaborate with experienced musicians, community members, artists and arts organisations to build your professional networks.Alongside your practical learning, you will also explore the theoretical aspects of music. Working alongside your classmates, postgraduate students and your lecturers, you will research and evaluate concepts and artistic processes.Our enthusiastic and supportive team of experienced music tutors include performers, composers, teachers and community musicians. Their musical interests include everything from jazz and metal to choral music and brass bands. A large group of instrumental and vocal teachers who cover all instruments and musical styles will also support you through your studies.
