**Understanding Natural Sciences**Natural sciences allows you to study a combination of sciences, helping you to understand where you may want to specialise. By combining expertise from multiple subjects, you can help find solutions to 'big-world' problems. You'll learn from scientists who are working together to address global challenges such as climate change, sustainable food and healthcare.**Course structure**At Nottingham the degree gives you the flexibility to focus on what interests you. This may include subjects that you are already studying alongside new ones. Choose from the following multiple subject combinations:ArchaeologyBiologyCancer SciencesChemistryEcosystems and EnvironmentEarth ScienceMathematicsPhysicsPsychologyYou'll choose from one of twenty-two streams combining three of these subjects during your first year. You'll then study two subjects to degree level from your second year. By combining multiple sciences, you will benefit from a truly interdisciplinary degree. Teaching will include a combination of lectures, tutorials, problem classes and seminars. There's hands-on experience conducting experiments in our modern laboratories and computing facilities too.**Flexibility**Throughout your degree you can choose from a range of additional options. You can apply to do these when you get here.- Switch between the BSc and MSci within the first two years- Year-long industry placement- Year in Computer Science to gain programming skills**Careers**You will graduate with transferable skills that employers look for. Alongside in-depth subject knowledge you'll be trained in critical thinking, problem solving, team work and communication. Many of our graduates pursue roles in scientific sectors such as energy, conservation and pharmaceuticals. Others use their softer skills in jobs across management, finance, marketing and consultancy.
