Course summary

Nursing has always been one of our leading subject areas at Bucks thanks to our experienced lecturers and strong links to NHS trusts, charities and private organisations. But we never stop looking for new ways to inspire our students. You'll find the latest specialist facilities at our three campuses, from realistic manikin 'patients' to life-like simulated injuries. Our purpose-built adult and child wards include real equipment just like hospital or community settings. You will learn the theory in class and hone your skills in our safe simulations on campus. Then you'll go on placement at our partner organisations, gaining real-life experience to put your new knowledge into context and apply what you've learned. Our two year Foundation Degree (Sc) Nursing Associate is suitable for students with and without previous healthcare experience. If you wish to undertake a higher education qualification in nursing care and learn how to deliver care for a range of people in diverse settings, then this is the course for you. There is a continuous growing need and high demand across the nursing sector, nationally and internationally, for qualified Nursing Associates. Our programme teaches you how to deliver a wide range of clinical and care skills, and demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours, underpinned by a systematic knowledge base.During the course you are supported by several key educators and a range of health care professionals across all four fields of nursing (adult, child, mental health and learning disability).
