Course summary

Studying the MSc Nursing (Adult, Mental Health or Children and Young People) programme will enable graduate students to practise effectively within a professional values base in a variety of health and social care settings: emphasising compassion, communication and dignity in care. You’ll gain an advanced understanding, knowledge and the skills required in becoming a first level qualified nurse with a sound portfolio of clinical and interpersonal skills, preparing you for your preferred career pathway.

This course will involve you working with vulnerable groups of individuals, including children. In order to ensure that the University offers places on their programmes to suitable candidates you will all be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB). We will be able to guide you through this process once you have been offered a conditional place of study at the University of Central Lancashire.

Opportunities

Successful completion of the programme prepares the graduate for future employment as a registered nurse (Adult, Mental Health or Children and Young People). The School of Nursing’s well-established programme shows high levels employability for course graduates.
