Course summary
This CertHE programme is designed for individuals with a keen interest in nutrition and health. This programme will facilitate the process of students becoming independent life-long learners and reflective practitioners who are able to acquire, interpret and present information. This programme provides a progression route to the BSc Nutrition, Physical Activity and Health. Developing a thorough core knowledge and understanding of Health, Nutrition and Lifestyle is a core focus of our programme. However, you will also develop a wide-ranging, valuable skill set that is relevant and transferable to a number of industries. In addition to the practical skills relating to health and nutrition, you will develop key skills, such as leadership, communication, problem-solving and critical thinking.As part of a wider campus offer, there are opportunities for you to gather external awards, such as the gym instructor, personal trainer and first aid qualifications. There will also be opportunities for you to gain practical experience of health assessment and dietary analysis activities, relating to authentic, real-world problems and cases. The programme has a dedicated nutrition laboratory where you can access nutrition-specific resources and use dietary analysis software.
