Course summary

**This course is primarily designed for face to face learning with you attending your lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. However, there may be periods of study where the government advises TEC Partnership that it is not safe to open campuses or there is limited access due to social distancing measures. If the Campus is closed TEC Partnership will continue to deliver your sessions online and offer you the necessary support and resources remotely. If there is limited access due to social distancing measures a blended model will be adopted with some lessons happening in small groups and others happening using online sessions and support.**This programme is suitable for those wanting to pursue a career in teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector; that is teaching students age 14 years and above. The part-time programme is a two-year course and is suitable for those who already work in the sector, and want to pursue an path to develop their career and teaching practice. The part-time course is taught on one evening a week, and includes On-line learning, work placements, Peer Assessment, Presentations, Poster Presentation and a Year End Conference.You will also do 100 teaching hours (minimum) the duration of the course (split over two years) in your own classroom setting with the support of a subject specialist Mentor.Applicants will be placed on the relevant qualification dependent on the level of entry qualification.The course is awarded by the University of Hull.

GCSE/National 4/National 5 :

You will need to be competent to level 2 for English and maths, evidenced by a short assessment prior to registration. You will be advised to register for a formal level 2 qualification upon admission if you do not already have one. If you wish to pursue QTLS, you will need formal GCSE level qualifications in English and maths. You will need to have a level 3 qualification in the subject specialism you wish to teach or have substantial workplace experience.
