Course summary

This postgraduate pattern-cutting degree will develop your skills in innovative pattern-cutting and garment technology to prepare you for a successful career in the commercial fashion industry.

Masters graduates have an acknowledged advantage in the employment market, obtaining work in a wide range of vocational and academic fields related to fashion. Previous graduates have gone on to work as 2D digital pattern cutters, 3D digital sample developers, garment technologists and to teach at universities in Madrid and Beijing.

Students will have the choice of two pathway options to focus their interests: Creative Pattern Cutting or Garment Technology. You will experiment with a range of digital and manufacturing technologies and techniques, materials and components in order to achieve your goals. As well as developing conventional and creative pattern cutting techniques, you will become conversant with digital pattern technology and you will explore digital pattern development through using 3D sampling software.
