Course Overview
The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in Creative Media Production is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers within the Creative Media Production sector. The course offers a unique fusion of technical knowledge with core artistic principles with a strong emphasis on the practical skills sought after by industry employers. The video games industry plays to the UK’s twin strengths in creativity and technology. Computer games have grown to become ubiquitous in our lives. Students exit the course with a very robust and employable portfolio but also have the option of progressing to degree-level study after successful completion.
Assessment Method
Teaching on the course is provided by a team of highly qualified staff who are experienced in their respective fields. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical game development workshops and library-based study.

QUALIFICATION TYPE
A level :
The minimum entry qualifications for the programme are: 32 UCAS Tariff Points: This must include one full 6-unit award (GCE A2 or equivalent at A-level). 4 GCSE grades A* to C (or equivalent), and / or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as Maths and English, however students may be required to have GCSE English / Maths for articulation on to degree programmes. Access Diploma: Pass relevant subject-related Access course with a minimum of 48 credits at level 3 or above including 14 at Merit.
