Rose Bruford College’s Performance MA/MFA explores performance across a range of fields and disciplines, positioning you critically within your work. The postgraduate programme places interdisciplinarity at its heart, centring innovative performance and research methodologies that draw on socially engaged and radical practices.

It welcomes those interested in making, thinking, and writing about contemporary performance in diverse settings – from education to nightlife, theatre to activism, immersive to experimental, and beyond. We understand postgraduate performance training as an opportunity to expand and extend your creative and critical viewpoints.

The programme enables you to develop new practices and enhance your existing performance skills, introducing you to key techniques, strategies, tactics, and methods for making performance and critically engaging with your own and others’ work. This learning takes place through core modules and specialist pathways.

You will study alongside students from multiple disciplines and can even tailor your experience by moving between pathways during your time with us.

This programme aims to challenge and critically engage with the cutting edge of contemporary creative industries, developing your interdisciplinary skills across a range of settings. Guided by world-leading experts and practitioners, it provides a pathway to further develop your creative practice and/or continue into further study. Ultimately, the programme prepares you to shape and respond to the multiple futures of performance.
