Course summary

This course brings together the ‘triple threat’ of singing, dancing and acting. Develop acting techniques for the stage and strengthen your voice and singing in our Showcase and Contemporary Music Theatres Modules working in professional performance spaces. You’ll make the most of performances in site-specific spaces such as Gloucester Cathedral, the bustling Gloucester Docks, and the Wilson Art Gallery. You’ll work in professional theatre venues such as the Everyman Studio and the Playhouse Theatre in Cheltenham.Students regularly perform at the internationally renowned Edinburgh Fringe arts festival, gaining invaluable experience and inspiration from other cutting-edge work. It’s your chance to meet other performers and practitioners and undertake a full performance week of your own show. August 2018 saw students perform a version of Treasure Island that received a 4 review and was described by the host venue as ''A colourful, explosive adventure and a pleasure to watch''. The numerous opportunities to gain practical experience during the degree will ensure you graduate with all the skills to pursue a rewarding career in the performing arts.
