Become an inspirational and inclusive secondary teacher in Computing – developing your subject knowledge, creative skills and professional experience to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). International applicants must apply before the 12th of April to start this course in September 2024. You’ll join our dynamic Sheffield Institute of Education and undertake work-related learning in the community. You'll learn about the key aspects of a teacher’s role – including theories of learning, pedagogy, assessment and behaviour management.On this PGCE, you'll gain qualified teacher status (QTS) as a teacher of computing with experience teaching Key Stages 3 to 5. Learn how to share your enthusiasm for computing to inspire the next generation of students. Qualify for a job with excellent prospects as computing is a priority subject, you could be eligible for a tax free bursary of up to £25,000. Learn about the ways schools and the education system function. This course is professional and vocational in nature and has, as its primary aim, the development and supply of competent teachers who will be capable of securing employment in an education setting.
