- This teacher training course offers an exciting opportunity to become a qualified teacher with a specialism in mathematics. You’ll benefit from professional and college-based support networks to gain all the confidence and key skills you need.
Why study PGCE (Primary with Mathematics) at Goldsmiths?
- As well as general teacher training, you’ll also receive specialist training in teaching Mathematics to a diverse range of students.
- You will learn approaches to effective classroom practice, and be asked to reflect critically on your classroom performance. This will help you develop your confidence.
- You will undertake a mathematics research project in a placement school, taking part in sessions that highlight the global aspect of maths, including the cultural, historical and literary aspects of the discipline.
The programme is delivered in partnership with teachers in school. The majority of our partner schools are in London, and selected for their quality of provision. They offer an excellent introduction to teaching in socially mixed, multi-ethnic, urban classrooms. This experience is both exciting and challenging.
