It enables qualified children's, learning disability and mental health nurses, who have current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, to undertake an additional professional role in adult nursing. Adult nurses deliver care to clients with a diverse range of health conditions. While it is difficult to truly capture the breadth and variety of working life as an adult nurse, typical duties might include physical examinations and clinical assessments, monitoring patients and recording their clinical condition, administering medication and injections, responding quickly to emergencies, and acting as an advocate for patients and their families. Adult nurses also support people with their wider nutritional, physical, hygiene and emotional needs.
