Course summary

Course description

If you are interested in studying pharmacy at postgraduate level to further your professional practice and prospects, but don't have the time to dedicate to a full master's course, take one or more units from our MSc Clinical Pharmacy course as standalone continuing professional development (CPD) courses via online part-time distance learning.

We are currently offering a range of units as courses for CPD. You can study one unit as a standalone course or take more units to build up credits for a postgraduate award.

Aims

The pharmacy CPD units aim to provide pharmacists with flexibility and choice to advance their professional and clinical skills as part of their lifelong learning.

Throughout all units, there is an emphasis on patient-centred care, clinical leadership, patient safety, complex decision-making and continuing professional development to drive forward service innovation in pharmacy.

Coursework and assessment

We use a range of summative and formative assessments that vary depending on the unit. They can include:

  • reflective accounts;
  • practice portfolios;
  • webinar oral presentations;
  • Pharmaceutical Care Plans (PCPs);
  • case presentations;
  • Personal development plans;
  • Evidence of completion of CPPE learning programmes.

Visit the relevant unit page to find out more about specific coursework and assessment methods for that unit.
