Our Pharmacology with Research Placement BSc(Hons) course offers an advanced programme of learning designed to give you the solid grounding you need to set off on your chosen career path, whether it’s in research, pharmaceutical industries or the health sector.- This course has advanced accreditation by the Royal Society of Biology (https://www.rsb.org.uk/education/accreditation)- During the course, we’ll be looking at all aspects of pharmacology including neurodegenerative diseases and other conditions affecting ageing populations, as well as infectious diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis and HIV-AIDS. You’ll also have the chance to study topics around public health and increase your understanding of emerging pathogens and those that are becoming resistant to antibiotics. In short, you should graduate with the knowledge and practical skills to kick-start a fulfilling career.- The third year is your chance to step out of the classroom and into the real world. The research placement widens your horizons and lets you apply your knowledge to real-world projects.You’ll have a great opportunity to put your knowledge into action and pick up valuable skills that could help boost your employability.- On top of that, you’ll be guided by doctoral-level teaching staff and there’s the chance to gain hands-on experience in our biological sciences labs using modern, scientific instrumentation.As a student on this course you’ll be able to apply for undergraduate membership of the Biochemical Society (https://www.biochemistry.org/Membership/Join/Undergraduate.aspx) and The Physiological Society (UK) (https://www.physoc.org/undergraduate-membership).
