Course summary

Research students are supported through the provision of: shared office space, IT equipment and research funding to support some travel and other expenses. There are significant library resources at Keele to support Humanities research, including Early English Books On-Line (EEBO) and Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO) , as well as the private David Bruce Centre Library for American Studies students and Staffordshire Studies repository for local historians. Keele is also ideally located near to other major libraries and collections, eg, John Rylands Library, the University Libraries of Birmingham, Oxford, Manchester and Liverpool and St Deiniol’s Library. Keele is less than 2 hours away from the extensive scholarly resources and libraries in London and has established collaborative working relationships with all major archives and record offices within the region Research Staff and Students The Research Institute provides a dynamic and supportive environment for postgraduate study and research. Postgraduates are encouraged to participate in all research activities of the Institute, from attending and giving papers at research seminars to taking part in academic events beyond the University. We support long-standing, flourishing centres for American Studies (the David Bruce Centre) and for Local History. Regular seminars series are: Early Modern, Medieval M6, Modern, Local, Science in the Humanities and Reading & Writing Lives. Staff interests International students can't study part time at Keele. They are only eligible for full time study.
