Course summary

The Centre for Research and Knowledge Exchange in Psychological Wellbeing (CREW) brings together the School of Psychology’s unique disciplinary composition and expertise, spanning experimental and developmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, counselling psychology, and arts and play therapies.

In REF2021, 62% of the research we submitted was ranked as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’, with all three of our impact case studies ranked at this level. We have a wide range of innovative and exciting programmes of research, developing knowledge and practices at the forefront of the psychological field. CREW researchers are known, internationally, for their work on mental health and wellbeing, and cutting-edge methods for helping individuals and communities to get there.

Our multidisciplinary approach seeks to improve the understanding of factors that influence health, mental health, and wellbeing; and to develop strategies and interventions to improve mental health and wellbeing in adults and adolescents. Collectively, members within CREW, and their collaborators, are working to enhance our understanding of the social, psychological, and biological mechanisms that affect mental health and wellbeing. CREW also aims to strengthen and broaden our School’s knowledge exchange to better reflect and utilise the multidisciplinary strengths of our researchers and staff engaged in professional practice activities.
