Religion and philosophy are two of the most profound influences on human life. This degree will give you a better understanding of their personal, historical, and cultural importance.- Range from the most personal to the most momentous of concerns- Develop the abilities to understand, engage, and assess diverse ways of life- Transform how you think and feel about fundamental issues of human existence**In theology you will:**- Study biblical writings together with key thinkers, ideas, events and movements that shaped the course of Western Christian thought- Examine the key texts, thinkers, ideas and events in the history of Islam and Judaism- Have the opportunity to learn ancient Greek and Hebrew**In philosophy you will:**- Study topics, figures, and themes from across the Indian, Chinese, and Western traditions- Explore crime and justice, race and gender, politics and religion, the environment and society- Learn how to communicate philosophical ideas to non-philosophersNo prior academic experience is required in either theology or philosophy to take this course. Philosophy, and Theology and Religious Studies, are departments in the School of Humanities.
