Course summary

This well-established, successful programme extends the interaction of the theoretical, technical and creative aspects of photography, preparing you for further study or employment within all aspects of the field. The qualification is awarded and quality assured by the University of Kent. Historical and contemporary approaches to photography are studied with particular emphasis on the analysis of the contemporary period. You will be encouraged to make work for exhibition, finished to a high professional standard. The programme offers an in-depth study of photography that will suit students who really want to involve themselves in the subject and to play their part in contemporary visual culture. The HND qualification is at level 5 of the UK qualification framework and is equivalent to the first two years of a degree programme.
