Course summary
Overview
The MA Photography course at Coventry University offers an exciting opportunity for emerging practitioners in the field of photography and its associated forms to develop their work via a series of key interrogations.
In providing spaces for exploration and reflection in relation to publics, visual strategies and the contextual location of independent work, the course presents a distinctive way for you to explore the possibilities of your work alongside a longitudinal development of your core practice. The course challenges you to imagine, and work with, new audiences, processes and professional futures in order to enter into a sustainable and flexible career working with images.
This course is accredited and recognised by Chartered Management Institute
Career prospects
The need for our graduates to leave as confident and enterprising practitioners is particularly important when entering sectors such as the creative industries.
The postgraduate cluster module Collaborative Enterprise Project will challenge you to directly apply your skills across disciplines in a commercial context including the process of bid writing, pitching and self-promotion. It will also offer support on establishing and operating under different business models, including freelance working, with support from the CU Talent team. More broadly across the scheme, you will work holistically to develop ‘soft-skills’ in creativity, collaborative project management, production workflows, financial management, ethics management and the sharing of knowledge via public events. These skills and the experienced gained on the course will aid you in finding work in careers which span the arts and media, from freelance photographers and curators to teachers, writers and publishers
