Course summary

Develop as a photographer and refine your creative practice. Experiment, explore and encourage your professional practice to emerge. This MFA focuses on progressing and professionalising your Photography practice. You will identify and develop your particular approach to photography through a combination of taught sessions, tutorials, critiques, briefs and live projects, field trips. You will be supported to work independently to explore your own potential, focusing on practices that are directly relevant to your interests. You will consider external factors, and other cultures in your practice as you delve in to new ways of thinking.

Whether you have recently finished an undergraduate degree, or are returning to learning, this could be the postgraduate course for you. As a student on our Photography MFA you will develop a deeper knowledge of your creative practice. Throughout this course you will be supported to build on your knowledge of practice through both material thinking and critical theory. This will underpin your studio, darkroom and digital-suite practice and situate your work in professional and scholarly fields. As part of a supportive community of artists, you will be exposed to the opportunities of networking and working on live projects. Build on your knowledge of photography through creative thinking and critical theory. Our lecturers and technicians will support your independent work. Your experience in professional and scholarly fields will become integral to your studio practice. Special features of this course include:
