Course summary
Politics and sociology are both important disciplines which, through the study of different modes of social and political life, offer insight into the diverse and different groups and structures that make up society. At the forefront of contemporary social debates, BA (Hons) Politics and Sociology aims to engage students with emerging key themes relevant to both disciplines. In utilizing the staff expertise, this degree will engage in research led teaching, in order to provide students with insight to innovative academic theories and practices. The specialist modules taught are designed to advance students’ discipline specific knowledge and also help them develop a range of cognitive and practical skills; therefore this programme is not only designed to develop a student’s specialist knowledge of politics and sociology, but will equip students with a set of transferable skills relevant to further academic study and employment.
