The MClinDent (Advanced Training) in Prosthodontics is an intensive clinical, academic and research programme focused on fixed and removable prosthodontics, including implant dentistry. It can be taken either full time over three years, or part time over four years. The programme satisfies the requirements to sit the Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) or Prosthodontics (MPros) examinations. If you are looking to specialise in prosthodontics, this globally renowned programme at UCL will help you see your patient management in a whole new way. You will develop a high level of clinical skill for diagnosing, treating, and restoratively managing advanced and complex cases with an evidence-based approach. The course covers all aspects of prosthodontic treatment, including fixed (both conventionally prepared and adhesive-retained designs), removable and implant-supported prostheses, for single missing teeth or partially or fully edentulous cases. It also comprehensively covers operative dentistry and aesthetics including smile design. Our programme is unique as our trainees are exposed to all dental implant treatment phases, including planning, surgical placement, and restoration. You will be working with patients who require specialty-level treatment at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospital. Students also undertake laboratory work to appreciate its role in successful clinical outcomes. You will gain experience in both analogue and digital workflows in our new, state-of-the-art Institute and hospital facilities, where our students use the latest technologies, software and hardware. Our digital suite offers opportunities to gain comprehensive experience in digital workflows for all prosthodontic treatment. You will work with UCL's experts including clinical academics, hospital consultants, technical instructors, specialist clinicians and guest lecturers. You will be part of a small and focused international cohort, as places are limited. Learning is accomplished through seminars, advanced diagnosis and treatment planning sessions, supervised clinical patient treatment at the Eastman Dental Hospital, as well as supervised laboratory work.
