Course summary

Psychology is the scientific study of the brain and mind, exploring areas such as how children learn, how we use language and body language, and how we interact socially and in social media. Our Psychology degree, accredited by the British Psychological Society, is designed to help you build a solid understanding of psychological concepts and theories while developing scientific research skills and knowledge of modern research methodologies. You will investigate areas including how learning differs from one person to another and in neurodevelopmental conditions, why psychological and mental illnesses occur and how they can be treated, how memory affects our abilities to recall a crime, and why we use substances and the consequences of substance misuse. Studying in a modern, inclusive and engaging learning environment, you will develop vital career skills of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. You will also be encouraged to join our vibrant student Psychology Society and gain valuable experience working alongside tutors on their research projects.
