Course summary

Course description

This postgraduate degree offers a broad range of modules that cover the key areas of psychology, including cognitive, social, developmental and biological psychology plus research methods. We also have a focus on applied psychology with a dedicated module designed to support you in your psychology career.

The course is offered part-time and on a distance learning basis, meaning you can study with us from anywhere at a time to suit you. You can combine achieving a qualification with work or family commitments. Support is provided through lively online discussion forums with your peers and the teaching team. Materials are presented in an interactive way designed to ensure engagement with each subject area.

A two-day residential Course Conference is held annually, consisting of workshops and study skills sessions.

Teaching and learning

On a distance learning course, you will study in your own time on a part-time basis, so you can combine achieving a qualification with work or family commitments.

Teaching is through specially prepared course materials and other directed reading. There are discussion boards on our virtual learning environment (Blackboard) which let you engage with tutors and other students; these also contribute to your assessment.

A range of assessments are used across the course including case studies, presentations (via Skype) and research reports.
