Would you like to understand the psychological factors and how this links up with broader society? Do you find yourself wondering what part of human behaviour is explained by nature and what part is down to the society we live in?If so then the BA (Hons) Psychosocial Studies course at University Centre Peterborough may be of interest to you. Psychosocial Studies is a unique subject that addresses both individual experiences and larger social processes. In the course you will be introduced to the core concepts that shape the discipline and thekey tools with which to undertake social analysis and research.You will ponder the big questions relating to identity, psychological development, health and education. In addition, you will consider broader questions relating to social justice like inequality and discrimination and contemporary issues of new technologies, climate change and social activism. You will also learn the skills of a social scientist, you will be capable of formulating research questions and investigating them on your own.You will undertake research independently and as a member of a group and you will gain an insight into the city and the wider region - the problems and challenges it faces and the ingenuity and energy with which it attempts to address these.
