Course summary

Our Master of Public Health course focuses on epidemiological and statistical concepts as well as understanding the principles, philosophy and strategies underpinning health promotion that are applicable to public health practice and research around the globe.You'll learn how to design and carry out public health research, and develop the skills necessary to use, produce and interpret spatial epidemiology and disease mapping. You'll also learn about the underlying principles, theories, concepts and practices of ethnography and its application to healthcare delivery and improvement.You'll cover concepts in epidemiology, including mortality, morbidity, and disease distribution. You'll also learn about the history, development, and contemporary importance of public health in our societies, and the techniques and strategies for dealing with complex public health issues.Following the taught component, you'll undertake a dissertation that will reflect your integrative, analytical and critical skills through a topic related to public health, either by using data to explore and draw conclusions or completing a narrative review.12 months Full Time
