Course summary

Learn from the lived experiences of communities worldwide and play a role in redefining how we understand and shape the world around us. Question assumptions and embrace diverse ways of understanding contemporary issues such as gender, migration, inequality, religion, the law, popular culture, and politics. Learn directly from practitioners of anthropology and researchers who are deeply engaged with communities across the globe, gaining real-world insights and hands-on experience. Carry out your own research, observing and analysing the societies and issues around you through the lens of anthropology. Gain critical and transferable skills that open up a broad range of career opportunities through our work-based placements and employability-focused modules. Travel and study abroad, choosing from over 300 destinations worldwide including Jamaica, Malaysia, the United States and Australia. You’ll be assessed in different ways to suit each module. At the start of a module, you’ll be told how and when you’ll be assessed. Methods will vary but may include coursework (e.g., essays), group or individual presentations and projects, exams, reports or computer-based assignments.
