We'll equip you with the essential knowledge, skills, and values needed for effective social work practice. You'll gain a deep understanding of social justice and human rights, learning to practice in an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and anti-discriminatory way. A strong ethical framework is woven throughout the curriculum, helping you navigate complex situations with sound judgment and reflective practice. You'll also master crucial legislation and social policies, ensuring you operate effectively within legal frameworks.Hands-on learning & career preparationA cornerstone of our programme is the practical experience. You'll complete at least 200 days of supervised practice placements, including up to 30 critical skills days. These placements will span at least two contrasting settings, with a minimum of one in a statutory setting, giving you diverse exposure. This hands-on learning is carefully integrated with academic studies, allowing you to critically reflect on your developing practice and link it to professional, legal, and ethical frameworks.We foster critical thinking and research skills for evidence-based practice, ensuring you're a professionally curious and critically minded social worker. You'll be work-ready, equipped with the foundational skills to engage effectively and uphold the high standards of the profession as required by Social Work England.Your future as a Social WorkerUpon successful completion, you'll be eligible to register as a Social Worker with Social Work England (SWE). This degree opens doors to a dynamic career where you'll partner with individuals, families, and communities, promoting positive change and, crucially, protecting people from harm, abuse, and exploitation.Our Social Work degree offers a high-quality learning experience, blending academic rigour with invaluable practical application. You'll graduate with the confidence, knowledge, skills, and behaviours to become a registered professional ready to make a significant impact on lives.The Social Work degree programme is currently pending Social Work England accreditation approval.
