It will enable you to meet the professional standards and register with Social Work England.- You will be well-prepared for your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE), which takes place once you have qualified and start work**About this course** You will prepare for social work practice in our state-of-the-art Practice Learning Skills Lab, developing core knowledge, skills and values. A specialist practice interest module will give you the opportunity to study a chosen area in depth.There are two contrasting placements of 70 days and 100 days. You will learn from service users and carers, shadow experienced social workers and make observation visits. You will study effective approaches to working with children and their families and adults at risk (including older adults, and mental health social work practice). You will examine the legal, policy and ethical frameworks for social work practice; human development; social work methods of assessment and intervention. A satisfactory health declaration, including immunisations, and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check are required from accepted candidates before registration for the programme.
