If you have a passion for promoting social justice and challenging inequality, then this degree is for you.The BSc (Hons) Social Work degree at Cardiff Met aspires to develop you as a professional with a clear repertoire of core skills, knowledge and values required to practice as a social worker. A professional who communicates effectively with individuals who access services and other professionals, often in complex and challenging circumstances, with the aim of promoting individuals, families and communities’ rights, enhancing the wellbeing of the people they work with.This Social Work degree is accredited by Social Care Wales and will prepare you to work within a range of social work settings. You will learn and reflect on the key social issues impacting people who access services. The course is delivered in partnership with Local Authority employers and in each year of study you will complete a practice learning opportunity (PLO) that will enable you to integrate your learning into practice. Through each PLO, you will learn to deal professionally with the complexity of people’s lives in a sensitive and empowering manner.On successful completion of both your academic studies and your practice learning opportunities, you will graduate with a BSc (Hons) Social Work and the professional qualification that enables you to apply for registration as a qualified Social Worker, with Social Care Wales or one of the other regulatory bodies both in the UK and overseas.
