Course Overview

Our BA (Hons) Sound Design course provides a creative and practical experience. The course covers different areas of industry including music production, sound design for film, TV, animation, games, podcasts, radio, audio installations, theatre and VR/AR/MR.On this course you will learn technical skills in professional studio spaces. You'll learn to create, record, mix and master audio and sound design for broadcast, live shows and integration with visual media.Collaboration throughout the course encourages you to engage with students from other areas. Working together, you'll develop your skills and gain experience across a range of disciplines.This course is flexible and you're encouraged and supported to develop skills to match individual interests. Module content is varied and delivered by academics with specialisms across the field.

- You'll attend lectures, workshops and seminars that underpin the theoretical, technical and practical knowledge required to develop and succeed in the industry.- As the degree develops, you will develop your technical skills through studio-based sessions from fundamental knowledge to advanced skills and applications strengthening employability upon graduation. - Attend guest lectures delivered by sound designers, TV directors, games audio experts, music industry specialists, producers, artists and performers.

Successful completion of BA (Hons) Sound Design at the University of Lancashire will provide the skills and knowledge required for a career in the creative industries. Employment avenues include:- Postproduction for film and TV - Radio production- Podcast production- Sound design for games- Theatre- Art installations- Music production.
