Sound for Film and Television BA (Hons)

The Sound for Film and Television degree, is a brand new programme designed to empower students with pro audio skills to work in the film, television and new media industries. Students will look primarily at the techniques and skills associated with film sound but also at the modern day opportunities for creative sound based products in television, new media, animation, production design and acoustics. There is also careful consideration to equip sound specialists with an ability to think critically about modern audio production. This versatile course will give you all the real world skills required to be a sound specialist in an ever changing and exciting area of the creative industries. The course is delivered by dBs Music who provide a practical and creative-based degree course located in professionally specified high-end studio facilities. The course is validated by Plymouth Marjon University.There is an emphasis on contemporary sound practices, examining the modes of audio production within the moving image context, whilst always referring to classic production techniques that still stand the test of time. This is all whilst examining the current revenue streams within the sound related industries and working with students to, where possible, begin their professional vocational careers whilst studying on this program. This course aims to involve students in real world projects working for real world clients. The aim is to form a working and professional relationship with students studying on media and film courses in the area and to collaborate with these students in the creation of professional product.
