It leads to Part 3 registration as a specialist community public health nurse (school nursing).Become an autonomous, resilient and dynamic practitioner, who can promote a critical enquiry of specialist community public health nursing practice, leading and delivering safe and effective interventions. Develop your confidence and independence in learning, while networking with other professionals to support interdisciplinary working.Develop public health practice knowledge and skills to address health inequalities with individuals and communities, and enhance your leadership skills to contribute to the new school nursing agenda. Gain an understanding of evidence that underpins and supports practice.Explore the changing and expanding role of the school nurse, including the bio-psychosocial needs of children, young people, parents and families. Develop a high level of cultural competence and advanced communication skills to support holistic assessment and the development of shared goals.Gain skills and confidence to critically analyse and actively contribute to the public health agenda.
