Course summary

This course is built on strong foundations as we were one of the first institutions in the UK to develop a sports related degree programme and have a 20 year collaborative programme of research and physiological monitoring between the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). You can choose to specialise in one of the core Sport and Exercise Science disciplines alongside bespoke modules tailored towards high performance sailing and delivered by experts in their respective fields.

The programme is to be submitted for endorsement by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) in September 2017 and is expected to achieve this endorsement in line with 3 other Sport and Exercise Science programmes in the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences. As well as supporting a career in sailing as a performer, coach, scientist, we also understand the importance of ensuring that you have the knowledge, skills and experience to compete successfully in today’s challenging jobs market.
