**Why an Integrated Foundation Stage?**An Integrated Foundation Stage starts your degree studies with a year spent learning the skills required to progress onto a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Sport and Exercise Sciences, you will develop valuable study skills, communication, team work and problem-solving techniques which help to build your confidence and prepare you for the rest of your course.**Why Sport and Exercise Sciences?**Our Sport and Exercise Sciences degree enables you to build your understanding of the science of human performance, specialising in sports performance, exercise and fitness, nutrition, or a mix of these three areas. With opportunities to gain experience on placements with organisations such as Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, Bristol Rugby, Swindon Town Football Club, the British Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation, and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, our graduates stand out from the competition. You’ll draw on the expertise and industry-leading research of experienced lecturers, who are professional practitioners accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The course also benefits from recognition by BASES. You’ll take advantage of fully equipped sports science, physiology and biomechanics labs and suites including our very own environmental chamber, often used by athletes and professional teams such as Forest Green Rovers FC.
