**Why Sport Coaching Science**?Our Sport Coaching Science degree enables you to discover the science behind performance for athletes and coaches, while gaining practical coaching skills and experience. You’ll develop knowledge of key pathways in pedagogy, leadership and coaching sciences including physiology, biomechanics, psychology, ethics and performance analysis. Practical sessions and placements will help build your understanding of how you influence, and are influenced by, coaches and athletes, plus you’ll have opportunities to gain qualifications with key National Governing Bodies alongside your study. This focus on innovative practical learning and integration with other sport and exercise courses will help give you a well-rounded appreciation of sport coaching science.Our course is endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, ensuring it is designed with professional standards at the forefront. You’ll be able to draw on the expertise of our experienced staff team, who work with organisations such as UK Coaching, GB Rowing, British Equestrian and GB Paralympic squads. Our industry links have enabled recent students to gain experience with professional teams including Cheltenham Town FC, Gloucester Rugby and England Netball, while our annual sports coaching conference offers the chance to be inspired by high-profile athletes, coaches and academics.
