Sport (Football Club Coaching) HND

Students completing their Higher National Diploma will be aiming to go on to employment or progress to a final year top up year to graduate with a full Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. All units being studied are designed to support future employment within the professional football environment. Taught by highly skilled industry professionals with qualified up to masters degree level. All learners study towards Higher National Diploma in Sport (Community Sport & Physical Activity). **Why this course?** Students studying on the Higher National Diploma in Sport with Yeovil College University Centre are able to build up an outstanding level of knowledge specific to a range of different areas of the football industry throughout the two year qualification. Studying a varied range of topics throughout the qualification all students gain an in-depth insight into the sport and football industry across a variety of levels, this is applied directly to the football industry and examples of best practice working with Yeovil Town FC providing all students with an excellent starting point for a career in football. All students aged 18 on 31 August 2020 are eligible to participate as part of the Yeovil Town Football Club's (YTFC) Elite Player Development Programme. This allows students to play England College’s FA Premier (Cat 1) Football alongside of their study with opportunities to play in BUCS fixtures (subject to change depending on course intake). **What might I become?** The study program allows learners to participate in a comprehensive work placement throughout their study in partnership with Yeovil Town FC, staff at Yeovil College University Centre are able to support students and applicants to obtain a placement alongside the course, students are actively encouraged to participate in a work placement alongside the qualification in order to develop employment based practical skills and is mandatory in the second year of study as students are required to complete a work placement module. Opportunities can include; academy coach, performance analyst, media and communications, academy manager, academy education and welfare, operations officer, strength and conditioning coach.All students aged 18 on 31 August 2021 are eligible to participate as part of the Yeovil Town Football Club's (YTFC) Elite Player Development Programme. In addition to this students studying on the HND Sport qualification are able to access the colleges wide ranging sports enrichment program including weekly fixtures for Football, Rugby, Netball, Basketball and Badminton. Students studying towards this qualification are able to utilise this opportunity to support with the development of their coaching working with experienced and expert coaches within their chosen sport.
