This innovative course will enable you to develop the skills required to successfully manage and lead a variety of sports, events, organisations and people.This degree focuses on the business and management of the sports industry. Students study a combination of management, policy and sociology modules, developing a thorough and critical understanding of sport management issues and theory. With employability at its core, the course enables students to develop practical and professional skills through a four-week work placement unit. To complement their degree studies and help to further boost employability, students are also encouraged to study for an NGB coaching qualification.The course team’s established industry links have provided previous students with the opportunity for valuable industry work experience. Past students have also benefitted from talks delivered by guest lecturers, giving insight around current issues in the industry to help build their knowledge and network of contacts.Students study a combination of management, policy and sociology modules, developing a thorough and critical understanding of sport management issues and theory.**What does this course lead to?**This course can lead to careers in the business and management side of the sports industry - potential career paths include marketing, finance, events management and administration.
