Course summary

This course will offer you a thorough grounding in multimedia journalism skills, from research and reporting to dissemination and promotion, with a clear and consistent emphasis on the specialist area of sports journalism. You will study sports journalism within the wider context of journalism as a practice, learning how to produce appropriate content within ethical, legal and institutional constraints and influences but always with an eye on the developing market.You will be encouraged to develop a historical and theoretical understanding of journalism, seeing sports journalism as part of vocation with a rich past and a challenging future. Your modules will enable you to consider and create content for traditional and emerging platforms across the UK and other markets.We have strong links with industry and this course will provide you with enhanced work experience opportunities that will enable you to develop your professional skills. You will be able to build your passion for journalism into a professional career as you study. Your modules will support you in developing your transferable content production skills. You will start to build your professional contacts and confidence in your own networking skills while you work with real journalists and produce real journalism for immediate publication.
