**This new Higher National Certificate in Sports Photography course has been developed in consultation with local and national sports photographers and commissioners, and will involve extensive field work. It is aimed at people with a passion for photography and who enjoy catching the action.****About the course**Work experience is central to the curriculum, and you will have the opportunity to work with and get feedback from a range of professional practitioners. You will investigate the methods and techniques of professional photographers, and develop skills that will get you ahead of the game in a competitive freelance marketplace. **Modules may include**- Professional practice- Visual communication- Photographic techniques- Digital media- Visual language**Assessment**Coursework may include: presentations, research portfolios and online journals. There are no examinations.**Qualification Award**Higher National Certificate in Photography - awarded by Pearson.**Bursaries**We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed. Details for 2021-22 will be advertised once approved by the university regulator – the Office for Students (OfS). From the HND, graduates could progress to our **BA (Hons) Digital Media Design**, validated by Nottingham Trent University; or a similar top-up course at another institution (subject to entry requirements). Alternatively, they may wish to seek professional employment in the Creative Industries sector.
