The course concludes with a Business Project; a substantial piece of work designed to provide you with an opportunity to analyse a business problem and practically apply the knowledge and skills developed during the course.
Accreditations
MSc Supply Chain Management is fully accredited by:
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
- Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
- On successful completion of the degree, you will also be awarded a CMI Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
Course outline
MSc Supply Chain Management is delivered in a collaboration between the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Aston Business School which makes this course distinctive from other universities. You will receive a broader knowledge from academics across both schools who work closely with business and industry.
You will develop knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and applied perspectives of supply chain management and logistics, along with specific areas of supply chain management by studying specialist modules. These areas include: relationships, partnering, ERP, simulation, purchasing, contracts, planning and optimisation.
Assessment
Assessment methods are designed to meet the particular requirements of each module. These methods vary from 100% examination to 100% continuous assessment. Currently the balance for the taught element of the course is approximately 65% examination and 35% continuous assessment. The major project accounts for 60 of the 180 credits required for successful completion of the degree.

This programme is suitable if you are seeking a career in the supply chain management sector, particularly if you aspire to senior management positions.
Upon completion of this course, you will enter the workplace with a degree that was delivered by a triple accredited Business School, and is professionally recognised and accredited by the CIM and CIPS. This gives you a real edge.
Recent graduates from this programme have gone on to secure roles such as Supply Chain Analyst, Assistant Purchasing Manager, Corporate and Planning Strategist, Quality Controller, Planning Executive, Procurement & Logistics Expeditor, Junior Resources Manager and Content Operations Executive.
