As part of the Joint Honours Theatre programme, you will have opportunities to develop your theatre making skills in writing, devising, directing, and applied theatre. **TWO SUBJECTS, ONE DEGREE:** A Joint Honours degree adds variety and interest to your studies. Built around process, experimentation and risk taking you will encounter a range of practices to explore and develop your theatre making skills. An exciting part of your studies is the opportunity to engage with professional work experience within Derby Theatre or partner organisations, which will contribute to the development of your professional portfolio. You can also take part in public performances including studio theatre spaces, and off-site in the community, schools, and art centres.‌**Derby Theatre - a Learning Theatre** Many of your theatre modules will be delivered at Derby Theatre, a fully equipped, professional theatre and major live performance venue, allowing you to gain valuable industry experience and contacts as you learn. Derby is the only UK University to own and run a professional producing and learning theatre, Derby Theatre, a major live performance venue. Your course is delivered as part of the Learning Theatre initiative funded by Arts Council England and offers both real-world industry experience as well as the opportunity to work with students across our performing arts programmes in a broad range of productions.Derby Theatre is the lead partner for Derby’s Cultural Education Partnership.
