Course Overview

The Certificate qualification has been awarded advanced training status from the National Counselling Society. This course has been designed to introduce Learners to relevant counselling theories/models and basic counselling skills. It supports Learners to understand and develop the knowledge and skills, which underpin the counselling process. This course will be of interest to those who wish to pursue a career in counselling or those who may wish to develop their use of basic counselling skills within their current professional/voluntary role.

Assessment Method

You will be assessed through coursework assignments which includes Personal Learning records of reflection on course content. For the final module you will be asked to submit a DVD [completed in class with fellow Learners], to demonstrate your practical use of counselling skills. All assignments are word processed so you will need basic computer literacy.
