Course summary

This degree builds on the industry-recognised HNC/D programmes. All first year entrants will start on the HNC and the entry requirements are therefore for this programme. Successful completion will allow you to progress to the second year of the HND. Following achievement of the HND, you can progress to the third year of the degree. Applicants already holding a relevant HNC qualification can apply for direct entry to the second year. When completing your application make sure you choose year two. Applicants already holding a relevant HND qualification can apply for direct entry to year three, again where this is the case please make sure you choose year three when completing your application.The BA (Hons) Visual Communication and Design is an interdisciplinary design course. It is a highly student-centred course in which you will be encouraged to explore and develop your individual style and interests as a creative practitioner.Working on projects with social, economic and environmental significance, you will develop a clear understanding of contemporary design theory and practice. This course focuses on 21st century skills development. It aims to enhance your existing visual communication skill-set through participation in a range of live project briefs and self-directed practice. With the opportunity to work alongside respected industry professionals, you will be supported through the cultivation and development of your own professional profile and portfolio.
