Course summary
The Foundation Year in Education and Childhood is for you if you want to undertake our Working with Children, Young People and Families degree programme but do not have the required entry requirements to do so, or don’t yet feel ready to begin degree-level study. This four-year pathway offers an alternative route into university, allowing you to begin your studies with an initial full-time Foundation Year.This one-year period of study aims to develop your academic skills and confidence as well as introduce you to key concepts, debates and skills that will inform your second, third and fourth years of undergraduate study.Our Foundation Year is for you if:• you do not have the right qualifications for a full degree;• you feel you are not yet ready for degree-level study;• you are returning to study and feel you need some help to get up to speed with the demands of learning before embarking on a degree.Upon successful completion of the foundation year, you will be able to progress to Level 4 of our Working with Children, Young People and Families linked honours degree.
