Course summary

Immerse yourself in the theory and practical application of animal biology, turning your passion for animals into your career. Learn in our labs and on our 360-hectare campus, working with domestic, wild and exotic species to develop your knowledge and skills. You’ll study a range of fascinating subjects, all relevant to real-world issues. These range from health, disease and nutrition to wildlife and zoo management, biodiversity and ethics. You’ll have opportunities to gain real-world experience through our strong industry connections, ready for your career. Our students gain work and research experience in our animal therapy centres on campus, as well as at local rescue centres, zoos and wildlife parks. An optional field trip to Mankwe Wildlife Reserve in the South Africa bush will give you valuable insights into international zoology careers and the challenges with real-world conservation. Recent graduate destinations have included roles in zoos and wildlife centres, animal charities and rescue centres, animal nutrition, pharmaceuticals, animal health and welfare, education and outreach.
